Our Story

Jersey Skin offers a variety of moisturizers, lip balms, pillow mists, intense hand creams, bath bombs, massage oils and more, all featuring ingredients grown on this beautiful island.

We launched in September 2020 with six key ingredients: Jersey Apple Pectin, Jersey Seaweed, Jersey Sea Salt, Jersey Lavender, Jersey Lemon Verbena, and Jersey Beeswax. We pride ourselves on being an all-natural and cruelty-free company. While most of our products are completely vegan, we use Jersey beeswax in a few items.

Our ethos is to use sustainable ingredients and packaging, minimizing plastic use and prioritizing reusability. Our products are ocean-friendly, as all ingredients naturally dissolve without harming wildlife. We name our products in Jersey French (Jèrriais) to emphasize their island origins, such as our lip balms, called Baîsi, meaning ‘a touch of the lips’. We also packaging in amber glass jars as well as other packaging which is refillable or that can be returned to us for money off your next purchase.

Jersey Skin is a family business, although born in Gorey Village, Grouville, where we grow or harvest all our key ingredients - on 15th May 2021 we opened the doors to our town shop at 11 The Parade, St Helier. 

Founded by Benjamin Martin during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jersey Skin emerged when Benjamin, stranded in Jersey, turned to creating skincare products. With help from his Oxford chemistry graduate mother and green-thumbed father, he developed a range of face creams, body butters, lip balms, and shampoo bars.

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our use of minimal packaging and our effort to reduce plastic use. Our products are designed to dissolve harmlessly in the ocean, ensuring no harm to wildlife.

Support for our local products has been overwhelming, with customers appreciating our use of local ingredients and Jèrriais names. Benjamin, who started Jersey Skin during lockdown, continues to focus on growing the business, which has become his primary endeavor.
